AP over 10th / 11th Grade
I started my career at FHS in 2004 as a member of the math department. While I taught freshmen most of my career, I was able to work with juniors and seniors in our Intro to Data Science program over my last three years in the classroom. I have been a department chair, the Spirit House lead teacher, and the Restorative Practice TOSA. As Assistant Principal, I oversee 10th and 11th grade students. I bring my passion and enthusiasm to the position and will continue to serve FHS with my core values and beliefs, which are: unconditional love, a servant’s heart, high expectations for everyone, and a Warrior's work ethic!
Hi everyone!
My name is Vanessa Varela, I am a proud Fallbrookian, a FUHS Alumni Class of 2001, and a Sophisticated Ladies Club member which my mother Marielena Covarrubias, was a founding member of.
I obtained my AA degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences from MiraCosta College and I am currently pursuing a degree in Nursing. I am a part of two of the largest families in Fallbrook and I take pride in that and in everything I do. I am a mother of two young sons, so when I am not on campus you can find me on the soccer field or the football field cheering them on or working at a Farmer’s Market near you because I am 4th generation in my family’s farming business, J.R. Organics/Rodriguez Family Farms.
I am happy to be a part of the Assistant Principal’s office and the FUHS family.
Once a Warrior, always a Warrior!
